New Dog

We just got a new dog this week. Her name is Rasta but we are changing it to Bella. She is nine months old and she is a Siberian Husky. She is shy, timid, fun, loving, and loves to chew on things. Our cat Simba is not fond of her yet but hopefully she will get over it. If you have any advice on dog chewing that would be great.

I'm glad you have a blog too! As far as chewing up the backyard, unless you're right there when it happens, there's not a whole lot that I know of to do, but we went to man's best friend, ($1500 later) and the only thing that worked with chewing was every time that you see it happen, have a coke can with coins inside ready and around the house, and when she starts to bite, shake the can hard, once, so that it makes a loud startling noise. After she learns that the noise occurs every time she starts to bite something, she will eventually stop if you are consistent. It works and it's not worth paying $1500 to learn it, but it still works. Hope it helps. Also, I hope y'all are doing great! -Love, Janet Cooper
